Hi! Welcome to my Blog! I am excited to share my adventures on here for everyone to see.

Today is my first day in Italy! I just arrived last night, and it was quite a long day of traveling. I went from Hawaii to San Francisco to Frankfurt to Italy, and in total the traveling took over 25 hours. Coming into Florence, I was glad to have studied abroad with SAC as they arranged for someone to pick me and my roommate up from the airport and take us to our apartment.

One of the first cultural differences hit us pretty quickly. After coming in and getting settled, we wanted to go out to eat dinner before we went to bed. We left our apartment around 6pm to go find food, however, all the restaurants we tried to go to were closed! In Florence, we found that most of the restaurants do not open until 7pm for dinner. Instead we ended up going to a grocery store near our apartment. It was a very small store, a lot smaller than those in Hawaii. We were able to pick up some ingredients and made pasta with mushrooms and eggplant for our first night in Italy. Here's a picture!

That was our first night. I am looking forward to getting to see more of the city and eating Italian food from a restaurant today! See you in the next blog.
